This is a list of adapters currently compatible with the Blackberry OS 10 phones

Working OBD2 Adapters for Blackberry phones (and work on android devices with wifi)

Blackberry now supports normal Bluetooth OBD2 adapters if you are running the latest OS (10.2.1+) If you are using an older version of the OS, the wifi adapter below can be used

Connection Instructions

  • Connect the wifi adapter to the OBD2 port in the vehicle, and wait at least 1 minute (for the adapter to start up) - the vehicle ignition should be 'on' (but the engine does not yet need to be running in most cases)
  • On the blackberry, go to your WiFi connection manager, and look for a connection called 'V-LINK'. Select this adapter - your blackberry should then connect to it. If you are in range of your own home wifi network, then you may need to manually tell the blackberry to connect to the V-LINK adapter instead (you can also re-prioritise this in the blackberry settings)
  • Once connected via wifi to the adapter, start Torque - it should then connect to the adapter automatically. If it does not, then go into the app settings and tell Torque to use a Wi-Fi connection instead of bluetooth
  • You should now be up and running! :)

Troubleshooting

Sometimes the adapter is not visible over wifi - check that there is nothing already connected to the adpater (as they only allow one connection at a time)

If that doesn't work, try restarting the blackberry device if this happens. I have also seen the adapter stop working (possibly due to heat, or I have managed to get a bad one) - unplugging and re-plugging the adapter usually fixes this

The blue 'wifi' light, should light up and start flashing slowly before you connect to it on an adapter that is functioning properly
